Jack Williams and Still On The Hill
Music Workshop Weekend
at Wattle Hollow, West Fork AR

Listen to how much fun we have at the retreat!
This clip was recorded during Jack's workshop "De-Mystifying Music Theory"
as he was illustrating an example of how the essential chords of any key can move from one
to the other by means of stretching (augmenting) or compressing (diminishing) notes of the chord,
and how these altered notes feel to the voice as they move. Recorded by Andrea T.

"Thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome and safe from the moment I arrived...for an inspiring, stimulating,
supportive, encouraging and just plain fun time. Topped off with fabulous meals and the cozy, exquisite Turtle Room!
Easy to see why people come time and time again." LeAynne S.

"…so nourishing for body, mind, and soul…" Judi N

"My heart is still aglow from the weekend… What a gift to have experienced such an inspiring and rejuvenating weekend…It was more like stepping through a magical portal with only kind and gentle spirits  (no evil Snow Queens or anything!)  It was my peak musical experience, to date... such talent, such supportive listeners... Add to that the beauty of Wattle … There is something to be said for boldly stepping out of our lives for awhile to honor and partake of this songwriting family that we have grown to know, need, and love…Thank you for nourishing me."   Julie M

Spend three days in the Heart of the Ozarks
and experience an eclectic, organic approach to creating music
in a provocatively creative atmosphere
A weekend of musical exploration and growth.

Note to our newcomers: No one is ever required to sing or play at Wattle Hollow! You may take part in our workshop sessions or song circles to whatever extent you feel at ease. We hope, though, that you will soon feel comfortable enough to be willing to share your music with us, both for our enjoyment and to allow us to understand the role music plays in your life. Please don't forget that there are singers, players, and writers in every one of our groups who are still at the "beginner" level - sometimes along with a few who are more advanced - but who have come to understand that, at Wattle Hollow, the playing field is level and free of judgement, and that people all skill levels are encouraged to share their music.

$350 per person

includes rustic lodging (think Summer Camp for adults), healthy gourmet meals, and...

  • Intimate concerts by Jack and Still On The Hill
  • Workshops on all aspects of music making, songwriting, performance and creativity
  • Open mics, song swaps, quiet time to write and create
  • Inspiration and camaraderie
  • Nature walks
  • Catering by wonderful chefs

We realize that plans sometimes change, and (sadly) people may need to cancel their retreat reservations. Please familiarize yourself with our refund policy before you make your reservation - we have to be very strict about refunds in order to ensure that retreats don't get cancelled at the last minute.

  • 50% refund if you cancel four to six weeks before the start of the retreat
  • No refunds for cancellations made less than 4 weeks before the retreat

Wattle Hollow is a very special place - a beautiful, natural retreat with two large streams running through it. The retreat is used mostly for spiritual getaways and yoga retreats, with occasional special events like ours that fit the vision of Joy, the owner. The accommodations are comfortable but rustic (think summer camp). Rooms are well furnished and cozy, and some of the bathrooms are composting toilets - more than outhouses but less than modern bathrooms. (Joy is very proud of them!) Shower facilities are limited.  You can read all about the history and goings-on at the Hollow on their webpage - www.wattlehollow.com . We're confident that everyone who comes to Wattle Hollow will fall in love with its beauty and peacefulness.
